Tim Neal

Clerk of Courts

Tim Neal is your Wayne County Clerk of Courts.


He currently serving a four year term after being re-elected to the position he first won in 2006.
He is well qualified to hold this position after serving the last two years as the Clerk of Courts combined with his many years of experience in public service, management and accounting.

Tim is a graduate of Marshall University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

He resides in Shreve with his wife Jayne and their three daughters, Megan, Cassandra and Sabrina.

Tim is a member of the Wayne County Republican Central and Executive Committees, a board member for the Pregnancy Care Center, and is the Treasurer for West Hill Baptist Church in Wooster where he and his family attend and participate in various music and other ministries.

The Neal family was involved in  4-H for several years and is currently active with the Shreve Business & Community Association, the Wooster, Orrville and Rittman Chambers of Commerce, the Wayne County Trustees Association, the Ohio Farm Bureau, the B.P.O.E., the County Line Historical Society, the “Shreve Supports Our Troops” rallies and many other organizations and activities around the county.

Tim and his staff have worked to implement various processes and procedures in an effort to better serve the citizens of Wayne County. The items that have been, or soon will be, put into action include: the acceptance of credit cards as payment for fines, fees and costs; collection procedures for past due amounts owed to the court; changing our bank accounts to a bank with sweep accounts, lower fees and higher interest rates on bank balances; online electronic payment through our website; electronic filing of court documents; document imaging that will enable the public to see court documents on our website. Under Tim’s direction, the Clerk’s staff is constantly searching for more cost efficient measures and is currently in compliance with the County Commissioner’s request to reduce our operating budget by ten percent.
